Here he is, and i love him, and i want to keep him, but that wasn’t the deal. We named him London Fog.

In other news, my flight leaves for Japan on the 20th of March where i will be spending 2 and a half weeks with my buddy Bryan, who has been living there for the past two years.

In May, i will be going to New Zealand and Australia with my parents for their 30th wedding anniversary.

Ben and I have hung our photos at the Magnolia Cafe on Lake Austin Blvd. They will be up for two months, so, if you have the hunger after a long night of drinking and are looking for a great 24hr place (or if its Sunday brunch), you know where to go.

I think London just hid his chew toy in with my roommate’s drums. i want to keep him forever.

yesterday, at work in the coffee shop, i walked around the corner to find a girl obnoxiously eating a banana in line behind a couple that my co-worker was sending off with coffee. She was a “hipster”-ish girl wearing big sunglasses with a funny striped dress and a cut up t-shirt and appropriately tousled hair. She had the peel in one hand and was breaking off bits of the slimy fruit and nibbling them with her other hand. When she would finally commit to a whole bite, she would chew it with her mouth slightly open. It was disgusting. She stepped up to the counter and ordered her beverage, and, when told her total, handed the banana, splayed open like a flower, to a bewildered looking boy standing next to her. “can you hold this?” she said to his dismay and placed the chunk of banana she had already bitten into the center of the peel that he was now holding. What else was he supposed to do? She was digging for money in her little purse with her slimy banana hands and the look on his face was too much, i couldn’t stop the laughter from bubbling up and out of me, but, it seemed that no one understood. i was standing there laughing at what i had just witnessed, and i was alone. I bolted into the back, eyes watering, unable to control myself.

i hadn’t laughed like that in a long time. my eyes are tearing up now just thinking about it. i told the story over a couple of beers last night, but i wasn’t doing it justice. The thing is the boy had already gotten something; he had been at the store for a while, sipping coffee, reading. He was standing in line with this girl as she ate her banana in the most obnoxious way, because he was being polite. Not only that but, we have this policy against food brought in from somewhere else. Its rude to come into an establishment that pays to be there with food bought from somewhere else. We aren’t paying rent to let people sit on the deck and eat food that you didn’t pay us for. This is capitalism. We might not sell bananas, and yes she was buying a drink, but did she have to eat it so obnoxiously? She was being rude to everyone and was so caught up in the act of being “that girl” that i couldn’t stop myself from bursting with enjoyment. I loved it. I was so happy it happened on my shift, that i was lucky enough to experience it first hand, and now to write it and post it on the internet, could this get any better?
