This trip was planned to depart from Fort Worth, but one can easily plan a few days to catch up where this this begins. For example, if i were to leave from Austin, i would drive west to Balmorhea State Park, spend the night, and then drive to Los Alamos (as described in Day 1) from there.
Also, this trip was planned with so much driving in the beginning so we could spend as much time in Wyoming as possible. It would be a great itinerary for a month long trip if one were to stay in various places long enough to explore.

- Drive to Chaco Culture NHP, New Mexico
- Highway 4 to 126 to Cuba, NM
- Overnight @Chaco Culture NHP

- Drive to Moab, Utah
- Overnight @ Dead Horse Point SP
Day 4
- Drive to Flaming Gorge NRA WY/ UT
- Overnight @Flaming Gorge NRA
Day 5
- Drive to Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
- Overnight @ Gros Ventre Group Campground
Day 6
- Dayhike Amphitheatre Lake – 11 miles – 3100 ft elevation gain – 7 hrs
- Start Early – 7 AM
- Bring Water Filter
- Prepare for backpack
- Overnight @ Gros Ventre Group Campground
